"Jupiter's Gate" is a heartwarming story about a black and white cat that lives near a school. He sits on the gate near the school and regularly gets visited by the local children, who love him very much. One day, he decides to go on an adventure and meets lots of new friends: rabbits, calves, and mice.

The children miss him, and after some fun in the woods and fields, he decides to go back to his gate and see the children again.

Guidance and Notes

In addition to the story, the book has been co-written by a fully qualified working teacher from Sussex who specializes in teaching young children to both read and understand stories. Petronella is also qualified to teach special needs children.

The book includes a lot of questions and little challenges that parents and teachers can use to make the book go further and get the children more involved.

The notes can be used extensively or at the user's discretion, and from this site, teaching notes and simple lesson plans will be available to download as and when they are created.

Where to Get the Book

The book is available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Although it's quite short, it took both of us and others a long time to get right. So, teachers, parents, or carers, we hope it helps to provoke a better understanding in children of stories, how to interpret them, and maybe even one day how to write their own book.
